Whole-Body Hyperthermia
During whole-body hyperthermia, the whole body – with the exception of the head – is overheated.
In our clinic we use water-filtered infrared lamps with a high atmospheric humidity to generate heat. The body reaches temperatures between 38.5 ºC and 40.5 ºC.
Hyperthermia therapies overheat the tumor tissue from the outside; the heat has no effect on healthy tissue. Basic research since the ’70s has verified that temperatures above 39.5°C damage tumor cells, destroying them or impeding their growth. Overheating tumor cells causes a lack of oxygen. This results in over-acidification of the heated cells and a lack of nutrients in the tumor. The cell metabolism is destroyed, resulting in cell death (apoptosis) of the tumor cells.
Tumor cells are invisible for the immune system. But they change under the influence of heat. They then form “heat shock proteins”, certain proteins which appear on the surface of the degenerated cells. The body’s own immune system detects these proteins as extraneous cells, giving a clear indication for the immune cells to fight the cancer cells. Healthy cells do not form heat shock proteins.
Hyperthermia can make chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy more effective. In isolated cases, previously ineffective chemotherapy or radio therapy can be made effective in combination with hyperthermia.
Hyperthermia is a particularly effective supplement to the holistic cancer therapy.
Hyperthermia therapies
Our patients experience whole-body hyperthermia in a particularly beneficial, integrated and healing environment. After a preparation period of approximately half an hour, the actual fever therapy begins, lasting for around two and a half hours. The patients receive comprehensive care, with monitoring of their body functions, throughout the treatment. Strengthening ayurvedic teas and a fortifying natural beverage are available. The subdued lighting, relaxing music and soft color hues of the new office rooms have a soothing effect on mind and body.
After the heating phase, the patients enjoy a period of rest in this environment, during which their fever abates. They receive oxygen for stabilisation, and can recuperate through meditation. The office team takes care of the patient’s well-being throughout the entire treatment – and afterwards too, as telephone support is provided for all queries relating to the hyperthermia.
In our experience, whole-body hyperthermia is particularly effective for inoperable tumor and metastases, and for frequently recurring tumor types. However, it is also used for limited tumor onsets. We have successfully used whole-body hyperthermia in our office for breast cancer, sarcomas, skin tumors as melanomas, bone metastases as well as carcinomas of the lung, the stomach, pancreas, the gallbladder and kidneys.
Whole-body hyperthermia is often used in case of:
-
Carcinoma
-
Recurrence
-
Metastases
-
Rheumatism
-
Pain therapies
The advantages of whole-body hyperthermia:
-
Part of a holistic medical approach
-
No external interference with your organism
-
No anesthesia, no side effects
-
Outpatient treatment method
-
No complication, no pains due to hyperthermia
